Henry replaced a broken spring, cables and drums. He was congenial, professional and competent. I was pleased with the product and the quality of the work performed. I was not pleased with the cost. The price of the installed products represents unconscionable gouging. The management should be ashamed. Regardless of the cost, I needed the door repaired, so I paid.

I sought out Precision because I was hoping to find a company with good reviews that would not have shady, scammy sales tactics. I was wrong and deeply regretted going with this company for our new garage install instead of the other company that gave us a quote. Miguel was the representative that came and introduced himself and behaved in a way that made it seem as though he would be the one doing the install later. Turns out he was simply a classic sales associate who very likely works on commission based on his later behavior. When discussing prices, Miguel pulled out his Ipad which was conveniently left open to a prior customer with a much higher price. Pretending it was an accident, he reassured, "don't worry you'll get a much lower price." He was very chit chatty, asking about my life and profession, he talked all about the mental health issues of his daughter. All likely to earn false trust. My partner and I wanted an insulated garage door due to the West sun beating a lot of heat onto our garage. When Miguel later emailed our door estimates, only the very highest insulated garage door was "available" because conveniently the company "didn't have the cheaper version insulated door in our size." We have a standard 2 door garage fyi. So we had no option but to buy the top dollar door. Also, we needed wood around our door jamb replaced because of termite damage. Miguel said Precision "is only a garage door installation company." So to "help" us, he quoted us $300 saying he had a "handyman he uses that could do it no problem." After 2 long months of waiting for the door to get made and shipped, I followed up with Miguel directly about the door jamb repair before the install. Of course then he said, "oh actually it'll be $625 dollars, not $300, I didn't realize how much went into the job." (Mind you other garage companies include the door jamb replacement within their quoted install price). When I told Miguel I would need to see receipts for transparency, he said after talking to his handyman, that he was "so offended by my request that he refused to do the repair job for me." So then Miguel said, "Oh I might have another guy that could do it." This other "handyman" was willing to do the job for $500 ~$200 for supposed parts but was willing to show receipts this time. This other "handyman" named Junior showed up and did the job in <2 hours, told me the job "should have cost you $1200" (which is a bold lie), but didn't prime or paint or change the trim which is old and ugly despite me asking for it originally. He also used his own wood which he "gave to me for free which saved me the $200" supposedly (yah right). Amazingly, turns out this "handyman" is also an employee of Precision and also installs doors. He even said to me, "maybe I'll be the one installing your door." But I thought he was a handyman hired as a subcontractor because "Prevision is only a garage door install company?" I would not be surprised if they both split the $500. To me paying $250/hr to replace pieces of wood in less than 2 hours seems like a lot. Both Miguel and Junior were evasive to my questions, shady and made me feel uncomfortable. I felt taken advantage of the entire time of the repair but as a female felt more comfortable just giving them money to make them go away and never return. So I am left with this hard question: How is it that two employees of Precision are side hustling desperate customers and getting away with it?? Very very shady... I DO NOT recommend this company.

Just had a new garage door installed by Jesse Franco of Precision Garage Door of San Diego. Our old one was 20 years old and was getting louder and louder over time. What a great experience! Jesse was on time, had everything he needed to do the install, completed in record time (3 hours), and the new door looks great! And Jesse is a darn nice guy! I did get several quotes, and Precision was significantly cheaper than the others. Would I recommend Precision? Absolutely!!

Mike did an outstanding job replacing and installing our new garage door opener. He arrived right on time and even sent a text to let us know he was on his way. Throughout the installation, he was incredibly patient and took the time to answer all of our questions thoroughly. The installation itself was great, and Mike was professional and personable the entire time. Really appreciated taking the time to clean up the workspace and remove the old hardware as well.
